

In the visual arts, the concept of abstraction takes on the meaning of 'non-real'. The represented elements do not appear as they are; their true function is hidden behind mysterious forms: art does not reproduce what is visible, but makes visible what is not. The KN Book cutting boards are inspired by Kn, a novel by Carlo Belli considered the Italian manifesto of abstract art. Belli argued that art should be the symbol of a new order and, distancing itself from figurative art, should reject the very notion of reality.
